Consultancy in Paediatrics combined with a clinical professorship (chair) in Paediatrics
A clinical position as consultant of Paediatrics at the Department of Paediatrics at Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 10-year position as clinical professor in Paediatrics at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
With this new position, the Department of Paediatrics, Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk wishes to strengthen the leadership in paediatric clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
Further, the Department of Paediatrics seeks to strengthen the dissemination of its research achievements and the flagship fields of expertise of the department.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department of Paediatrics at Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk is a small but charming and well-functioning department, where we treat patients from 0 to 22 years of age. Our department covers a 25-bed general paediatric unit, a neonatal care unit with 10 beds, a paediatric emergency room with 6 beds, and an out-patient clinic.
We have a well-established research unit with associate professors, PhD students, nurses, research year students, lab technicians and others.
As a University Hospital we focus on the commitment to undertake teaching and research, as shown through partnership with university staff and our in-house clinical associate professorships. We appraise close working relationships through collaboration in research activities as well as delivering high-quality clinical education for health profession students, mainly medical students.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the Department
At our department, we have medical doctors who are trained specialists in asthma and lung diseases, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatology, nephro- and urology, neuropaediatrics, obesity, and social medicine incl. functional disorders. In the field of obesity, the department is represented by expertise at a high international level, and we receive patients from all over the country.
Research and teaching
We are a teaching department with educational obligations aiming to inspire and educate medical students and residents at different levels from the specialties of paediatrics and general medicine.
We have four clinical associate professors at the department, contributing to high-impact research in close collaboration with other departments and the University of Copenhagen. The department is engaged in several national and international research projects and houses 4 PhD students and 3-6 research year students. In our research unit, we have contributed to a large national childhood obesity data and biobank with more than 8,000 study participants with deep phenotypic and genetic data.
Qualifications
Applicants must be board-certified medical specialist in Paediatrics.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty, (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Department of Paediatrics, Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full-time secretary position from the Department of Paediatrics. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Department of Paediatrics, Copenhagen University Hospital - Holbæk.
